Mortgage rates recently dipped below 6% before climbing back to about 6.1%, highlighting buyers’ sensitivity to rate changes. Still, affordability is improving: rates are lower than a year ago, wages are rising faster than home prices, and increased inventory is easing price pressure. The median home price reached $398,000, up just 0.3% year-over-year.
